Dr. Bruce Johnson, DVM
Dr. Johnson’s desire to become a veterinarian began when he rescued his first dog at age 10. In the years since that first memorable experience, he has built a reputation for bringing quality care to our special friends. Dr. Johnson’s veterinary experience is extensive, including orthopedics, general surgery, advanced dental techniques, and dermatology. Eventually, Dr Johnson retired—twice—but could not stay away from veterinary care. His overall love of his profession is what brought Dr. Johnson to Community Pet Hospital.
Dr. Shelly Hill, DVM
Dr. Shelly Hill graduated from UC Davis, California in 1985 and has been working in the Portland area for 16 years. She has been happily married for 29 years and has three children in graduate school. Dr. Hill enjoys horseback riding, reading murder mysteries, hiking, and puzzles of all makes.
Dr. Deb Chistensen , DVM
Deborah Christensen earned her DVM at US Davis in 1995. After graduating she practiced at a rural mixed animal hospital for 3 years. In 2001 she began practicing part-time at Community Pet Hospital-Tigard. She enjoys hiking and playing piano and guitar in her free time. She lives with her husband, 3 daughters, cats, chickens and an Australian Shepherd in Scappoose.
Dr. Bridget Hendricks, DVM
Dr. Bridget Hendricks grew up in Kansas, and then moved to Colorado after high school. After graduating from Colorado State University in 2007, she joined a small animal practice in Cheyenne, WY. Shortly thereafter, she started her own veterinary relief business, working at many different veterinary clinics between Cheyenne and Denver. In 2011, she and her husband decided it was time for a change and relocated to Portland. Along with her husband, Dr. Hendricks shares her home with 2 very playful, loving cats. In her spare time, Dr. Hendricks loves reading, hiking, and snowboarding with her husband.
Christine Whalley, Head Veterinary Technician
Christine has been a surgical technician for more than 17 years, including exotics and zoo animals at the LA Zoo. Her favorites were the big cats and elephants. She is enjoying general technician work and being able to help more pets. She has two furry cats she rescued from work that keep her laughing.
Alice Sellers-Subocz, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Alice is a recently graduated certified veterinary technician who enjoys spending time with her cats and parakeets.
Liz McCarthy, Veterinary Technician
Liz has worked in the veterinary field since graduating from Oregon State University's animal science program. She enjoys mixed martial arts, riding her horse, and running with her dog in her free time.
Angel Elizalde, Veterinary Assistant
Angel is from Hawaii. She has been a certified nurse's assistant and loved medicine, but realized her real passion was working with animals. She moved to Portland, completed her veterinary assistant schooling, and really enjoys working with the animals at the clinic.
Cynthia Stehl, Receptionist
Cynthia grew up with horses, dogs and cats. She worked as a Veterinary Technician for 4 years and is radiology certified. Cynthia is passionate about dogs and competes with AKC events and is certified as a dog trainer.
Besides pets, she is an avid bicyclist and you will find her out in the mud during the Cyclocross season.
Sarah Limbourg, Receptionist
Sarah has worked in the animal field all her life, working with farm animals and volunteering at the Oregon Zoo. She and her husband keep busy with their multiple pet household. They also enjoy the wonderful outdoors the Pacific NW has to offer.
Terri McGinnis, Receptionist
Terri recently moved to Oregon from the suburbs of Chicago. She keeps busy at home with her three dogs. Working in the veterinary field for more than 7 years, she has a passion for animals and photography. With a big heart, Terri has cared for an array of animals from cats and fish to rats.
Zeline Reyes, Receptionist
Zeline Reyes, lives in Newberg, Oregon. She has attended PSU nursing program and is currently working on her Physical Therapy degree. She has always enjoyed animals and currently is owned by a 13 year old Kitty named Vinny. Vinny owns 2 dogs, Zoe a beautiful blue heeler and Pancho a vocal Chihuahua, that Zeline shares her attention with.
Abby "Pink Lady"
Abby is a Yorkshire terrier and loves to welcome everyone to the hospital. Her official title is "Pink Lady," To bring clients, pets and staff a "Happy Day."
