Senior Pet Care

Quality Pet Care for Our Faithful Senior Companions

You’ve had many wonderful years with your pet—and as he or she gets older, you want to make sure the “golden years” are as comfortable as possible. At Community Pet Hospital, we understand the special health issues facing senior companions.

Pets age much faster than humans do. Many ailments senior pets face respond well to treatment when detected early. One of the major benefits of regular wellness visits is that we will have a solid baseline to more accurately and quickly detect underlying problems your pet may be experiencing.

We recommend an annual physical exam for all senior pets, which may include:

  • Complete hands-on examination
  • Full dental check
  • Review of vaccination schedule and recommendation for boosters, if needed
  • Comprehensive blood profile to test for diabetes, thyroid problems, arthritis, liver disease, cancer, and so on
  • Flea and tick prevention
  • Internal parasite prevention
  • Chest/abdomen X-rays

If you have any concerns or questions about your senior pet, including dietary or behavior issues, please feel free to ask. Our ultimate goal is to keep your senior pet at optimum health from nose to tail.
